ⓘ 1898 United States House of Representatives elections in Virginia

Elections to the United States House of Representatives were held in 1898 for members of the 56th Congress, and took place in the middle of President William McKinleys first term.

As in many midterm elections, the presidents of the Republican party has lost seats, but managed to keep the majority, for the Democratic party. The populist party also lost many seats, as their movement began to decline. This was probably because many populists supported William Jennings Br an increasingly powerful branch of the Democratic party, which built the rural economic issues favored by the populists in their platform. As a result, Democrats won a number of Western seats, and many in the Mid-Atlantic.
